About Therapy & Practice

Yes. All sessions are conducted via HIPAA-protected video—teletherapy only. This allows me to serve clients wherever they are. I am licensed in Oregon, Nevada, and California, and hold practice authority in 40+ additional states through the PsyPACT interstate compact.

You can submit an inquiry through the contact form or call (702) 530-6134. We’ll schedule a brief 10–15 minute phone consultation to discuss your needs and determine if we’re a good fit. You can also schedule a 15-minute video consultation directly through the client portal.

The first session focuses on gathering information about your history, current concerns, and goals. I’ll work to conceptualize your situation and discuss what therapy can realistically offer. In subsequent sessions, we move into active work on the problem areas that matter most to you, often incorporating in-vivo exercises and between-session practice.

Regular session hours are Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM PST, and Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST. The office is closed Friday through Sunday, though I am available for brief phone consultations during those times if needed.

Most clients attend weekly sessions for approximately 3 to 6 months. Depending on progress and your specific concerns, we may adjust to shorter check-in sessions or space appointments further apart. For OCD treatment, twice-weekly sessions often produce the best outcomes, especially during the initial phase of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Almost everything you share in therapy is confidential. There are a few legally mandated exceptions: if there is an imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, if there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or other vulnerable person, or if a court issues a mandate for records. State-specific laws may also apply—for example, in Nevada, confidentiality can be broken if a client intends to seriously harm themselves. These limits are discussed in detail during the informed consent process before we begin working together.

On a case-by-case basis, I can work with clients living in or visiting Costa Rica, Ireland, India, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, and Turkey.

Payment

Fees & Insurance

Standard individual sessions (45 minutes) are $250. Follow-up sessions (30 minutes) are $190. Family evaluation sessions (90 minutes) are $385. WPATH mentoring consultations for clinicians are $165 per hour. For full details and insurance reimbursement information, visit the Fees & Insurance page.

I am not in-network with any insurance companies. However, many insurance plans include out-of-network (OON) benefits that can reimburse a significant portion of your session fees. If your insurance card mentions “POS,” “PPO,” or “out-of-network,” you likely have OON benefits. I partner with Thrizer to streamline the reimbursement process and also provide monthly superbills.

Here’s a simplified example: suppose my standard fee is $250 and your insurance has an “Allowed Fee” of $180, covering 80% of that amount. Your copay would be $36 (20% of $180) plus $70 (the difference between $250 and $180), meaning you pay $106 per session and insurance pays $144. You pay the full fee at time of appointment and submit for reimbursement using the monthly superbill I provide, or use Thrizer to handle it automatically. Visit the Pricing page for the OON estimate tool.

Thrizer simplifies out-of-network reimbursement. You have two options: Thrizer Pay—pay only your co-pay upfront and Thrizer bills your insurance for the rest (5% fee on co-pay). Or Reimbursement—pay the full session fee and Thrizer submits your claim (1% fee upon reimbursement). If you prefer not to use Thrizer, I provide monthly “superbills” on the 3rd of each month through the client portal for you to submit directly to your insurer. Credit card on file is charged between 12:00–2:00 AM the day after each appointment.

I require at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Non-emergency cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the scheduled session. Insurance does not reimburse for late cancellations or missed appointments. Existing clients can cancel or reschedule through the client portal if the request is made at least 24 hours prior.

Yes. I reserve six “access slots” in my practice priced between $150 and $200, intended for clients who are uninsured, have no OON benefits, or have a prohibitively high deductible. These slots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis based on financial need and are generally structured for 10 to 24 sessions. Note: sliding scale sessions are a private-pay agreement and cannot be submitted for insurance reimbursement. If you have OON benefits, paying the standard rate and seeking reimbursement is often more cost-effective.
